CISP is a suite of software designed for the assessment of
reaction hazards in the process industries. Written by
Cheminform, an autonomous branch of the Russian Scientific
Centre for Applied Chemistry, it is the result of more than 25
years experience of investigation of the thermal safety of
energetic materials and chemical processes. Cheminform
consists of a multidisciplinary group of over 40 chemical
engineers, physicists and mathematicians and the software has
been developed in partnership with companies including The Dow
Chemical Company, DuPont, Rhone Poulenc and Thermal Hazard
Technology.
The CISP software essentially follows the path: Data
conversion, data processing, data analysis (thermo kinetic
analysis) and data application. The latter is the most
sophisticated and this interprets the data and then applies
it to a range of scenarios (essentially this is a
simulation).
The aim is to start with data from any calorimeter (the
data converter allows input from most apparatus - ARC, DSC,
RSD, uRC and other reaction and adiabatic calorimeters - if
you can obtain data in a text format this can convert it!)
and get to scenario modeling via a thermokinetic analysis.
With this done it is possible to carry out reactor
simulation, thermal explosion modeling and vent sizing.
The CISP software also allows full correction of adiabatic
data to remove the effects of vapor pressure and to give
heat and gas generation parameters.

easy to use, reports are simply generated and its results
validate extremely well.
