Measure heat release during self discharge. |
![]() |
The IBC-SD provides accurate and easy testing of heat output during self discharge of a single battery.
Heat occurring during discharging of batteries is largely due to their internal impedance. Characterisation of this heat at different operating temperatures is vital for efficient thermal mangement of cells in packs or modules.
IBC-SD is designed for self discharge studies and utilises an isothermal environment to control temperature. Each cell chamber within the calorimeter is precision controlled by Peltier elements. Feed back control allows the accurate measurement of heat flux.
